Through technology, innovative teaching and collaboration with families, our new Virtual Classroom program will help students meet their goals and push their education forward while schools are closed in response to the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
Carmichael's staff has been working to support students' continued learning during the COVID-19 school closure. Read on for more details on how Carmichael teachers will be providing learning opportunities as well as resources to support student learning from home.
Carmichael Middle School facilities are being used to package and stage school meals being bused and delivered to select Richland neighborhoods.
If your family wishes to participate in the RSD Meal Assistance program during the COVID-19 School Closure please go to your nearest elementary school or Richland High School between 10:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. to receive student meals.

The CMS school building will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday March 17 through Friday March 20 for students and staff to come get any supplies and personal items they may need while schools are closed through April 24.
Please remember the intent for closing schools across the state is to increase social distancing in attempts to slow the spread of COVID-19. When coming to school to pick up items please
1. Enter and exit through the main doors to the building.
2. Go straight to your lockers and retrieve your items and exit the building.
3. If you need to enter a classroom to retrieve any items (i.e. instruments from music rooms or the gym locker room) please check with the office for assistance.

The Richland School Board and district administrators will be in emergency meetings on March 13 to discuss when and how to close schools in response to the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The district asks families to begin making plans for their children in the event that schools close with short notice and for an indefinite extended period of time.
