Athletics
Carmichael Middle School has a strong tradition of students participating in Cougar athletics!Our athletes and coaches take pride in sportsmanship and thrive in competition. We have a no-cut policy for all middle school athletics which means all of our athletes are given an opportunity to compete.
We welcome and encourage all students to become involved in CMS athletics and activities. Athletics are available to 7th and 8th grade students.

Winter II Sports registration is NOW OPEN on FamilyID.
- Winter II Sports Parent Information Night will be January 5 at 5:30 p.m.
Wrestling parents will meet in the Library and Girls Basketball parents will be in the Cafeteria.
Sports Seasons
Participating in a CMS Sport
Step 1: Register
Complete Family ID Online Registration.
(Note: All student-athletes must have health and accident insurance. If your family does not have medical insurance, you may purchase school-sponsored health insurance.)
Step 2: Sports Physical
Complete a sports physical through your family physician or a local doctor and turn it into the CMS office. Physicals are good for one school year.
Step 3: Pay Athletic Fees
- Sports Participation Fee $35 (paid each sports season)
- ASB Fee $22 (one time fee for the year)

Step 4: Student Eligibility
For a student to participate in sports they must have good academic standing at school. This means passing 5 classes (if enrolled in 6) or 6 classes (if enrolled in 7).
Regarding attendance and athletic participation, athletes must attend at least half a day of school to be able to participate in practices or games, regardless of whether absence is excused or unexcused.
Students/Athletes that have been assigned in-school and/or out-of-school suspension cannot participate in practice or games any days during said suspension.
